Omen is about the Bean Nighe - pronounced ‘ben-nee-yeh’ - a female spirit in Scottish Folklore.
Known as the Celtic washerwoman or the washer at the ford, she can be found in dark lonely places next to streams or pools. Here the spectral woman washes the bloodstained clothes of someone who's about to meet a sudden violent death. The sight of the washerwoman would mean death for the viewer or for their loved ones.
